6 bakery stops in Wake Forest: Plant Cakes downtown, Krispy Kreme and Panera off Capital Boulevard, and three Dunkin' stores.

Last checked Oct. 12, 2026. Refreshed every three months.

Wake Forest has one independent bakery we could confirm, Plant Cakes Bake Shop on South White Street downtown. The rest are chains: Krispy Kreme and Panera Bread near the Capital Boulevard and NC 98 interchange, and Dunkin’ on Durham Road, Rogers Road and north Capital Boulevard. Vendors at the Wake Forest Farmers Market also sell baked goods they make themselves, and Wake Forest Coffee Company downtown is on the town’s dining map for espresso and desserts (see our breakfast and coffee list).

How we made this list. The places come from OpenStreetMap records inside Wake Forest’s town limits, the same data behind our local directory, checked against each place’s own website on Oct. 12, 2026. The Dunkin’ and Panera stores are confirmed by 2026 records in Wake County’s restaurant inspection data. We left out Crumbl, Chelle’s Cakes and Main Street Grille, Cafe & Bakery, which we could not confirm at a Wake Forest address. The list is alphabetical. It is not a ranking or a recommendation, and nobody paid to be on it. Run a bakery in town? Write to us to be added or to correct your entry.
