20 burger places in Wake Forest: The Burger Shop and Norse downtown, Capital Boulevard, Retail Drive, Durham Road, South Main Street and Rogers Road.

Last checked Oct. 12, 2026. Refreshed every three months.

Wake Forest’s own burger places are downtown: The Burger Shop on Wait Avenue, and Norse Brewing Company and Over the Falls on Brooks Street. The chains line Capital Boulevard, Retail Drive and Durham Road near the U.S. 1 and NC 98 interchange, with a second cluster on Rogers Road and Rogers Branch Road near Heritage.

How we made this list. The places come from OpenStreetMap records inside Wake Forest’s town limits, the same data behind our local directory, checked against each place’s own website on Oct. 12, 2026. We added Cook Out, Five Guys, Wayback Burgers, Whataburger and the second Burger King, McDonald’s, Sonic and Wendy’s stores, each confirmed by its own site or a 2026 record in Wake County’s restaurant inspection data. We dropped Andy’s, BurgerIM, Red Robin and Showmars, which have no 2026 county record. The list is alphabetical. It is not a ranking or a recommendation, and nobody paid to be on it.
