Valentine’s Day 2027 is Sunday, Feb. 14. No Valentine’s events had been announced in Wake Forest when we checked, so this page starts with the date ideas downtown offers year-round. Most of them sit within a few blocks of South White and South Brooks streets, inside the town’s social district, where you can carry a drink in an official cup between participating businesses from noon to 9 p.m. Thursday to Saturday.

  • It is a Sunday: Over the Falls is closed on Sundays, and Bodega lists Sunday hours of 4 to 8 p.m.
  • Renaissance Centre box office: 919-435-9458, weekdays 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 5 p.m.

Dinner downtown

The town’s own food and drink itinerary suggests a rooftop drink at Unwined on White, then tapas at Bodega. From each venue’s own site:

  • Bodega Tapas & Wine, 110 S. White St., 984-235-4187. Globally inspired tapas. Its site lists Sunday hours of 4 to 8 p.m.
  • Unwined on White, 153 S. White St. A wine bar and yoga studio that calls itself “the oldest historic, rooftop destination in the Southeast,” with wine tastings.
  • Over the Falls, 419 Brooks St. Open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday to Saturday and closed Sunday; it does not take reservations but runs an online waitlist. For a Valentine’s dinner, go Saturday, Feb. 13.
  • The Lemon Tree, 415 S. Brooks St., Suite C. Cafe, caterer and meal-plan kitchen beside the Listening Room, which takes concert food orders through it.

Music and a show

  • Tonic, Bar & Social Club, 158 S. White St. Live music every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Open 5 to 10 p.m. Sundays; closed Mondays.
  • The Wake Forest Listening Room, 415-C Brooks St. Seated concerts, typically on Fridays, with doors at 6:45 p.m. and shows at 7:30 p.m. Its February 2027 lineup was not posted when we checked.
  • Wake Forest Renaissance Centre, 405 S. Brooks St. Around Valentine’s Day 2027 it lists Lucky 13, an interactive murder mystery, at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, and the Cleveland Celtic Ensemble at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 27.

Something different

  • Strike & Barrel, 413 Brooks St. Bowling, duckpin bowling, axe throwing, arcade games and golf, open 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sundays. A laser light show runs on the lanes from 7 p.m. to close on Fridays and Saturdays.
  • A walk at Joyner Park. E. Carroll Joyner Park, 701 Harris Road, has walking trails and gardens. Trails are on our walking and biking trails guide.
  • A class together: The Makery, 317 E. Roosevelt Ave., runs craft classes, and The White Street Market offers candle making, the town’s arts itinerary notes.
