North Carolina grades every public school, charter schools included, A to F. The grade is based 80% on student achievement and 20% on academic growth, according to the state’s 2025-26 annual testing report. For this school, achievement is measured mainly by the state’s end-of-grade reading, math and science tests.

Admission
Applicants must live in North Carolina at the time of open enrollment, and all applications received during open enrollment are treated equally. If there are more applicants than seats, a lottery is held at the school by grade level. Siblings of current students get preference, children of full-time employees and board members are admitted up to 15% of enrollment, and kindergarten seats equal to 1% of enrollment are set aside in a weighted lottery for economically disadvantaged students, according to the school’s admissions page. For 2026-27, the enrollment period ran Jan. 19 to Feb. 27, 2026, with the lottery March 11; the school had not posted 2027-28 dates on its lottery page when we checked. Applications after the window go to the bottom of the waiting list.
District attendance zones do not apply. To find the WCPSS school an address is zoned for instead, use the district’s base school lookup.
Calendar and bell times
Envision sets its own calendar, separate from the district’s. Dates are on its school year calendar page.
