Where Wake Forest and Wake County legal notices are published: the state press association's site, the town's hearing notices, agendas and bids.

Last checked Oct. 11, 2026. This page is an index, not the official publication of any notice. Each notice’s legal home is the newspaper or government site where it is published; follow the links below. For town questions, call Town Clerk Evelyn Wright at 919-435-9432; for county questions, call the office named in the notice.

Public notices tell residents about government actions that could affect them: hearings, rezonings, annexations, budgets, bids, foreclosures, estate filings and unclaimed property. In Wake Forest they appear in several places.

Where to look

1. North Carolina newspaper notices

North Carolina law still requires many notices to run in a newspaper. The North Carolina Press Association’s ncnotices.com compiles public notices published in North Carolina newspapers and is free to search. That is where to look for foreclosures, estate notices to creditors, construction bids and assumed business names in Wake and Franklin counties.

2. Town of Wake Forest

  • Who publishes them: the Town Clerk publishes and posts all public notices and hearing notices for Board of Commissioners proceedings, according to the town’s public bids and notices page. The Purchasing Department handles bid notices for public works projects.
  • Hearing notices: each case on the Public Hearings Notices page lists the meeting date, what is proposed, the parcel and a case manager’s phone and email.
  • Agendas: Board of Commissioners agendas are posted as PDFs on the Board of Commissioners page.
  • Development cases: the town’s development activity dashboard maps projects in review and recently approved.
